The Eastern Police Region is organized into three police areas: Södermanland, Östergötland, and Jönköping, which are further divided into nine local police areas. Additionally, there are three regional units: the operational unit, the investigation unit, and the intelligence unit, a regional secretariat, and national departments represented in the region to support police operations.

The investigation section in the Jönköping police area is organized into serious crimes, surveillance operations, crimes in close relationships, fraud offenses, crime coordination, and investigation on call. The investigation section has a common task across the police area and investigates crimes throughout the entire police area.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The duties of the on-call investigation officer are to support and lead the on-call teams and external personnel (intervention operations - IGV) with preliminary investigation management, any coercive measures decisions, and quality assurance of cases and operational work in the field. They work closely with external operational management and RLC officers. The on-call investigation officer also ensures the investigation work among external personnel. In collaboration with the prosecution authority, they take the investigative measures that are possible and relevant during on-call hours regarding detained individuals.

Job tasks:

  • Lead and manage preliminary investigations in an operational environment
  • Lead and support IGV/on-call teams and be responsible for feedback to these groups
  • Maintain close cooperation with external operational management, other preliminary investigation leaders within the authority, the prosecution office, and the on-call team leaders
  • Be responsible for reviewing, prioritizing, and completing simpler cases
  • Lead, be responsible for, and make decisions on cases within faster prosecution (SLF)

QUALIFICATIONS

This is an opportunity for you who have:

  • Swedish police degree
  • Police Authority's preliminary investigation leader training, at regional or national level
  • Work experience from the police and the police's internal systems
  • Investigation experience
  • Driver's license B

We consider it meritorious if you also have:

  • Experience as a team leader

In this role, it is important to have the ability to handle multiple issues simultaneously. The work is conducted at a high pace, and the content of the assignment varies. In the role of on-call investigation officer, one needs to be responsible and good at leading both experienced and new colleagues with the ability to provide constructive feedback. Appreciating teamwork and being able to collaborate well both internally and externally is a prerequisite for the assignment. The position involves working for continuous development and improvement of operations, and we place great emphasis on your social competence and willingness and ability for professional development.

Permanent employment with the function of On-call Investigation Officer. The employment may begin with a probationary period. Place of employment: Jönköping. Work schedule: Period-planned 5:3.
